      Lol, to answer the Thanksgiving eotsqiun, my meal will only be Zone-friendly IF I manage to eat a massive enough amount of meat that it ratios out my sweet potatoes cranberry relish pumpkin pie cornbread stuffing w/ apple butter red velvet cake chocolate truffles and a big bottle of reisling to wash it down with But hey, the Zone is all about ratios, and I think I’m up to the challenge of eating that much meat watch out Turkeys

        PaleoMomRx I was able to find a nice little gaessfrd round roast at Whole Foods last week. I have it in the crock pot for tonight’s dinner. I threw in some onions, pepper, sea salt, mushrooms and beef stock. I hope it turns out OK. I don’t plan on cooking for the next two days, so

      Any chance we might have a senocd day to do the Lumberjack 20 and help raise money for the victims of the Ft. Hood massacre? I would love to do it but am already signed up to run a race that Saturday morning. Maybe Sunday, or Monday special endurance WOD, since there is a lot of running in it?

        (Oops: this got cut off). How about a nutrition senaimr coordinated with the Saturday farmers’ market, just around the corner? I sometimes see vegetables there (or even cuts of meat) that I don’t know how to prepare well. It might also be nice to circulate paleo-friendly information about our area (where to find organic, sugar-free beef jerky or wild rabbit; which restaurants are Zone or Paleo friendly) or even recipes (almond flour items for those having trouble giving up bread, for instance).

        I’m not paleo’ but low carb and I don’t exercise so why am I pontsig? Just to say that I hear you on the low energy when everyone else says low carb makes them feel great. I feel great in so many ways on the low carb lifestyle, over a year now, but I certainly don’t have the get up and go of a lot of my low carb friends. What gives, eh? Good luck getting back on the paleo wagon its a shame you can’t have both paleo and a good workout. As always I enjoy your blog.

      I have tried the paleo diet and the zone diet and I have done zone paleo style. I feel like I had the most success from the zone paleo style. I marsuee success by energy, weight loss, and performance. Currently I’m doing none of it. The only way I seem to be able to pull these off is if I plan out all my meals, and snacks for the whole week on Sunday. Then I prepare as much as I can (cook proteins, cut up veggies and package them up in 3 block portions) and stack them up in the fridge. I find if I plan this way I’m leaving little room for fudging up later in the week.

    Jack and I are on the Zone. We have played aonurd with being on the zone before but have only done so seriously (not cheating) for one week now. I already feel and see results. I definitely feel much better alert, less sluggish, energized, etc. on the Zone. A few of us have been using the blog Bull City Crossfitters which you have a link to on your page (thank you) to ask each other zone questions. I don’t know what your website capabilities are but it might be nice if we could send in zone recipes and there could be a recipe section on CrossFit Durham’s website that members could browse for zone recipes. Maybe if members have zone books they can part with we could have a lending library at CrossFit Durham. Maybe members could post reviews of restaurants in Durham that are zone friendly that would be really helpful. Just a few thoughts, I’ll try to think of more.

    Becky,It is easy to break blood vessels doing hdasatnnds/hspu’s. In gymnastics they teach you to keep your core muscles tight during a handstand. That will keep the blood from rushing to your head. If you relax your core while upside down, all the blood will rush down Mark

    booo hoo. i tried to join the bull city crossfitters site and it just put me into the fowlelors .i don’t follow a specific diet plan, but try to eat as locally and seasonally as i can given limited money/time and avoid excessive amounts of processed carbs, artificial sweeteners, and unpronouncable ingredients (the michael pollan/barbara kingsolver approach to food). i do want to get stronger so have modified my diet by adding in more protein and will see where that goes.

    Not sure I agree along with your assessment of what controls the Discovery tool. We have a series of lenses, all using the exact same primary tag, at least a third of their other tags in common, all in the same category and roughly the same lensrank range as they were created at the same time. And yet, only on just one in the lenses do any on the rest on the series show up devoid of me having to add them. I know, I know. It’s more complex than just that. I just think I’d have hit on it by accident at least once.
