My name is Jade Vickery, I’m 18 years old and I am a senior in high school. Around 2 years ago i found out i have a health disorder called Dysautonomia, it is a autoimmune disorder, where i need I need to drink a lot of water, take meds and workout to keep my heart rate up. Before I started crossfit 6 months ago, I would workout by myself; not a lot just an every other day thing. When you workout by yourself you don’t push yourself as much as you would with other people, it’s like your trying to beat and compete against them so it makes it more fun. I thought Crossfit wouldn’t be for me but it is, you don’t have to be fit or really strong, they make it as comfortable for you as they can. After my workout, I get this big boost of energy where I don’t want to just go home and sleep which is a symptom of my disorder. I have lost about 20 lbs, become slimmer, my stomach is getting smaller, and my legs have become muscular instead of fat. I am very happy with my results so far. Crossfit is a lot of fun, they don’t judge you and they push you to do your best. I feel comfortable being there, everyone is always so nice to me and I can’t wait to see where my fitness life brings me. Crossfit has definitely been a life changing experience in my road to my health.
