Featured Athlete: Jake Droddy

My name is Jake Droddy. I am 33 years old and live in Lumberton with my wife and son. I have been doing crossfit for 2 years. Prior to crossfit, I had gotten into decent cardio shape a few times but only to be able to pass PT tests for schools I attended. In 2014, I severely broke my right foot in an ATV accident. After surgery and physical therapy I was able to start putting weight on my right leg again,3 months after the accident. In that time I lost ALL the muscle on my right leg. I started running a little but knew I needed something more as I had gained a lot of weight. In July 2016, Shawn Blackwell talked me into coming to a free Saturday class at CFL. This was the first time I had ever worked out at a gym of any kind . I went and complained for several days afterwards. It hurt! I went to a few more Saturday classes and then joined. I definitely believe that joining CFL was a great decision. I started out going 2-3 days a week to now going 4-5 times a week. I like that you can keep up with your progress using wodify and I am always trying to get that gold star. I have gotten much stronger since I started and look forward to improving more. The coaches and other athletes at CFL are always encouraging and willing to help push you. I would recommend CFL to anyone that is looking to get into the best shape of their life!
